D W Environmental Systems will provide you with on site independent water testing services. We will come to your home or site of your water source, properly collect the water samples and then promptly deliver those samples to an accredited DEP laboratory for testing. If you have problems with your water in the future, we would be available for an additional fee to again come out and collect samples and have them tested by an accredited DEP laboratory to determine if there has been a change in the quality of your water. If necessary, we can provide verification and/or testimony regarding the testing that was done as an independent expert.
Levels of Water Testing
D W Environmental Systems offers five levels of baseline water testing. (See our Services Page for pricing.) The first level is the bare minimum parameters (DEP Short List) that the DEP recommends a landowner should have analyzed prior to the drilling of a gas or oil well. The second level is the DEP Short List Plus E. Coli Bacteria and other contaminants. The third level is the DEP List, the parameters that the DEP recommends that you test for before the gas or oil well is drilled in the vicinity of your water source. The fourth (DEP List Plus) and fifth levels (DEP List Premium) include additional contaminants that could possibly be a problem in the future due to the drilling of a gas or oil well in the vicinity of a water source.
Pennsylvania DEP Recommendations
In addition it is recommended that landowners test their water within one year prior to the drilling of the gas or oil well. In order to know when a well may be drilled in your area, a landowner may sign up for DEP's e-notice system to receive notice of well permit applications that the Pennsylvania DEP has received for wells in the area they choose. The web site to sign up for the notices is http://www.ahs2.dep.state.pa.us/eNOTICEWeb.
D W Environmental Systems' Recommendations
D W Environmental is here to help you be informed and prepared by having your water analyzed by an independent and reliable company when a gas or oil well is drilled near or on your property. If you did not have testing done before a gas or oil well was drilled, we recommend that that you still have testing done if your water quality is still good even after a gas or oil well is drilled in your vicinity. Water quality testing done by an Independent Testing Company can provide the landowner with a baseline water quality for future reference should their water quality change.
Follow the DEP recommendations and protect your water source.
